My movement portfolio. Lets create
Movement Research Reel 2019
It is in a delicate balance between provocative storytelling, creative imagery, somatic expression, and vocal narratives that as an artist I hope to create a common ground for emotions, histories, and community challenges to be heard. I believe that this “hearing” has the potential to be the generative force behind making collective change.
Movement is one of my vehicles for delivering personal and community narratives.

"A Call for Justice" was a pop-up multimodal performance installation sharing the audio documentation of felt experiences of racism in the United States through an Oral history Soundscape performed to by 10 dancers. Throughout the performance we we also provided headsets and a printed zine to be able to listen, read and become familiar with the narratives intimately. As an installation, the intent was to cultivate an immersive experience to generate ongoing collective dialogue regard the social injustices that are omnipresent today. It is in hopes that such dialogue transpires to community action, connection and listening, to engage in necessary behavior to change.

The project #MyGenderIsNotACard is a performance piece highlighting the essential need for female rage in dismantling unjust, inequitable gender dynamics that continue to prevail today. This project will be gathering a diverse collection of audio recordings shared by women who believe their stories, on subjects regarding gender inequality, could benefit the community by being told and heard. It was inspired by the #MeToo movement, the unprecedented Women's marches, the overt sexism in our political infrastructure, Rebecca Traister's book "Good & Mad",and the current political subtext, communicating female inferiority. Fracture was an experimental performance piece using circus arts, movement, and narrative as a lens for social change and discussion. This 12-minute work used performance as a tool to generate discussion on the subject matter of hydraulic fracturing in Colorado, USA and its effects on the local Community.

"The Right To Tell Your Story" was the first project released by The Community Storytelling Composition Project. This particular work was a multi-medium project using movement, graphics, and audio to represent community member's anonymous heartfelt stories on loneliness, fear, and transformation. It is our belief that our personal stories, when shared, help remind us that rather than isolating the individual can actually bring us together as a collective. In recognition, above all else, that we in fact have the human experience in common.
